Gemma Stokes - Founder
Before founding Podengo, Gemma enjoyed a successful career as a qualitative researcher, working with some of the very best brains in the business at Acacia Avenue. During her career, she worked across a broad spectrum of sectors, including FMCG, retail and charity. All the time she has demonstrated a love for solving knotty problems, getting the job done and delivering the best results for her clients.
But whilst she was a researcher she got a little bee in her bonnet about recruitment. Her belief is that the true value of great recruitment is often overlooked. Even though the industry has changed, with the arrival of database driven agencies, it still feels as if there is room for more. Hence the reason why she decided to create Podengo, to raise the standards even higher. By applying her skills as a ‘quallie’ to the recruitment process she hopes to provide a higher calibre of research participant. Plus, her experience as a quallie also makes her an intuitive project manager, who can act swiftly to deliver a beautifully executed project.
Gemma is a member of the MRS and is a firm advocate of the AQR and is very much involved with the organisation through her role as an AQR ambassador, and presenting at events such as the AQR Pecha Kucha and Q Festival.
Gemma is a proud mother of two boys, both under 3yrs old. Oh, and you’ve probably guessed she is fanatical about dogs. She has three rescue dogs, two of which look a lot like Podengos, Jacko and Mia.
Stephen Douthwaite - Project Manager
Stephen joined Podengo from Nutshell in Maidenhead (a full-service market research agency). Stephen is a creative thinker who loves qual and quant research. Stephen is experienced with different qual and quant methodologies and he is always on the look out for new and emerging techniques in market research.
Stephen is a keen lover of music festivals, sporting events, traveling and is a keen sportsman with a particular passion for rugby and cricket.
Janice Shaw - Project Assistant
Janice is one of our Project Assistants who joined the team in November 2014 having previously worked at BA, as an executive PA, enjoying all the perks of discounted travel! She is a great addition to the team and brings with her many years worth of marketing and organisational skills.
When she’s not at work Janice is running around after her three children and one very cute kitten. You will likely find Janice at the pool, watching her daughter perform or enjoying a drink with friends when not in the office.
Claire Robertson - Project Assistant
Claire is one of our key Project Assistants. Claire has previously worked as a PA and a Librarian. With a fantastic attention to detail and curiosity in people, Claire is an excellent Project Booker.
When not working, she spends her time running after her two lovely daughters and taking care of her beloved dog.
